Despite having a rough start to this chapter of her story, it has been amazing to see how much Sephora has settled in and been able to completely de-stress in a home environment. She is a totally different cat than when we'd first gotten her-- for the better.

She entered foster care after becoming incredibly stressed out in the shelter environment. Sephora had originally been taken to Orange County Animal Services in good faith by the landlord of her previous owner after he had moved out and abandoned her there.

Not knowing of this, we had originally tried to give her a bit of space and time to unwind in our guest room, but not knowing the parallels to her previous situation, it ultimately was letting her out into the house with us and the other animals that allowed her to feel the most safe and comfortable.

She is an incredibly intelligent, affectionate girl. She follows me around the house so that she can lay nearby to whatever I'm doing and will usually sit on the couch next to me when I'm in the living room.

She's becoming much more stable in her environment and in herself, and I think that someone who is able to offer her a consistent environment would be her best match. She is very easy-going about getting pets and does like attention. She does make some interesting noises for a cat-- I often tell her she sounds a bit like a pterodactyl, which I will admit was a bit startling at first, but that's just the sound of her voice!

I'm unsure how she is with children, but I think anyone who is able to be aware of her boundaries and not try to push her too much (she's more tolerant than she seems), would be totally fine with her.

She's been doing a lot better with our other animals as she becomes more comfortable. Basically as long as they give her space she's totally fine, but periodically she'll grumble/hiss if they pester her too much. My dog is a little overzealous when it comes to cats so I don't blame Sephora for sometimes getting sick of it!
